In this story, from the award-winning Swedish game studio Zoink and penned by Eisner Award-winning Adventure Time and Marvel Comics The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl author Ryan North, you’ll join Even, a penniless girl who’s down on her luck, in a dark quest to save her beloved sister. Ruled by a wicked Queen, the kingdom of Random is divided into six shadowy realms where life is dictated by a cursed black dice. There are some RPG elements as well in the form of dialogue trees with the world's strange NPCs.Play the odds in Lost in Random™, a gothic fairytale-inspired action adventure where every citizen’s fate is determined by the roll of a dice. Once Dicey has acquired enough energy, Even can play the odds and roll Dicey to use his powers to stop time to select cards to use against enemies. Even can attack foes in arenas that look like game boards using her slingshot, which in turn can knock energy cubes off enemies and feed Dicey.
The player controls Even alongside her companion Dicey, a living die in an apparent state of decline with world-altering powers, as she travels across all six realms in search of her sister. Outside of these main characters, it has been revealed that there are plenty of unique NPCs living in Random, some of whom will provide players with missions.Īs for gameplay, players can trade coins acquired in the world for cards that give Even new abilities, such as having Dicey explode during combat or restore health more effectively. The Queen is Random's cruel and calculating ruler who enforces order through her powerful dice. Even and Odd lived in Random's poorest realm, Onecroft, where daily life is a struggle. So far, Zoink! has introduced sisters Even and Odd, Dicey and the Queen.
