Since I’m using Intel HD 2500 integrated graphics, I instinctively lowered the resolution slightly but the game ran well regardless.

Plus, on a side note, I have to praise this game’s low system requirements 🙂 Yes, I have a vaguely modern (well, circa 2012/13) refurbished ex-office PC these days, but it’s so cool to see a horror game that will run on pretty much anything. Apparently, there’s a DLC/sequel that isn’t included though. I should point out that the DRM-Free GOG version of this game contains Acts 1 & 2 of the game, plus the shorter and self-contained “Act 0” demo too. Still, since I was in the mood for survival horror games and because my third attempt at playing “Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare” (2001) had come to a screeching halt thanks to an annoying ( and potentially game-breaking) bug… again… and since “DreadOut” had been reduced to about a quid, I decided to take a chance on it. I’d heard about this game before and was uncertain whether I’d enjoy it or not, since it was heavily inspired by the “Project Zero”/”Fatal Frame” games and I have a very clear memory of playing one of these games back in the day and genuinely being too scared to play any more of it after a few minutes. and/or other countries.Well, during a small shopping spree during the Winter sale on GOG last year ( mostly to distract myself from feeling bad about my computer not being powerful enough to run “Cyberpunk 2077”), I stumbled across a low-budget survival horror game from 2014 called “DreadOut”.
